Description

The unit is aimed at introducing students to the range of contexts within which contemporary adult-care and children and families social work is practised. The concept of professionalism, the varying roles and tasks that social workers perform as well as the key principles and values underpinning professional activity will also be covered. The assessment requires students to engage with professional social workers in practice, which will enable them to consider the social work role in preparation for their first practice placement.
